The second day of The Great Garlic Harvest

Some of the best moments of my life have been sharing my garden with my family. Just this past week mom and I planted fresh Basil , that she shared with me from her garden.  We planted the Basil on a wonderful sunny day and talked about this and that, chatting away with our hands in the dirt.  It was just a couple hours of together time, but so special and so peaceful.

This morning, Ashley our daughter helped us  finished The Great Garlic Harvest .. Again the three of us tugged and pulled garlic out of the ground, and talked away about life. It was a cool sunny morning in Maine and a sense of peace was felt by all. Tonight  Ashley will be driving home with her own bundle of Garlic to hang in her shed to dry and she will be sharing it with her husband.

A Garden is full of many blessings and sometimes it is more than food.

The Great Garlic Harvest !

This is the first half of the Great Garlic Harvest.  It was a great year to grow garlic. We harvested over 50 heads and have about that much more to do this Sunday.

Garlic has been used as both food and medicine in many cultures for thousands of years, dating back to when the Egyptian pyramids were built.

Garlic is used to prevent heart disease, high cholestrol, high blood pressure and to improve the immune system. The best part of Garlic is it taste great !

Having some spirited Beverages after a great day in Boothbay Harbor !

Hi, My Name is Moses ! I spent the day playing in the ocean and hiking in the dark green forest in Boothbay Harbor Maine. Afterwards my Momma and Poppa took me to town to hang out at The Chowder House . I had some nice cold water and Mom and Dad had some spirited beverages. I was so excited to hang out with them and not get left behind in the car. It was really fun, we even brought my  new toy from The Creative Turtle. The Chowder House has great food to, fire grilled burger, ribs, wings, lobster rolls and much more. I could smell Sally's home baked desserts. I am pretty sure it was a blueberry pie. Oh how I love Maine. Look at the picture of me by the view at http://www.chowderhouseinc.com/ ,
a woofin' good time had by all.
